Designed for precision binding and purfling channels on carved top and acoustic guitars.
Built to work with the popular Bosch Colt router, this jig excels where traditional setups struggle, especially on carved tops and bodies that are not perfectly square.
The router mounts to a smooth bearing-guided carriage that travels vertically along a precision track. A plastic guide ring follows the guitar top profile, allowing the jig to reference the instrument surface rather than the workboard. For accurate channel depth, use a bottom-bearing router bit, not included.
Stability and Control
-
Adjustable top and bottom stops keep the carriage securely aligned during operation
-
Adjustable bearing tension for smooth, controlled vertical travel
-
Height-adjustable carriage track to accommodate varying body thicknesses
Flexible Guitar Support
The guitar rests on four fully adjustable support blocks that move vertically and horizontally. This allows proper alignment of carved tops, acoustics, and varying body shapes while maintaining square geometry relative to the cutter.
Installation
The jig mounts to a user-made base board and guitar body base.
Two threaded T-nut inserts and mounting screws are included for attaching the support post.
The four support blocks mount directly to your guitar base.
Detailed illustrated setup instructions are included.
